How to import a GPX file

You can import GPX files into Cyclers to either navigate along a planned route or to save a previously recorded ride from an external device to your profile.

Step-by-step instructions

Option 1: Import and open in the route planner

Use this option if you have a GPX file containing a route you wish to ride and navigate.

  1. Open the GPX file on your mobile device and select the Cyclers app to open it. Alternatively, go to the My Profile screen in the app and select GPX import.

  2. Tap the Open in route planner button.

  3. If needed, edit the route by tapping the gear wheel icon or the pencil icon.

  4. Tap Navigate to start the ride immediately, or use the bookmark icon to save it for later.

Option 2: Import and save as a recorded ride

Use this option if you have recorded a ride on an external device and want to add it to your Cyclers history.

  1. Open the GPX file on your mobile device and select the Cyclers app, or go to My Profile and select GPX import.

  2. Tap the Save as recorded ride button.

  3. Edit the ride details, such as the name or type of bike, and tap Save.

  4. Your ride is now saved and can be found under the Record tab.

Option 3: Web import (recorded rides only)

  1. Go to the website cyclers.app/import and log in to your account.

  2. Drag and drop or choose the GPX files from your computer.

  3. Select the bike type and click the Upload button.

  4. The ride will synchronise and appear in your Cyclers mobile app.

  • Can I edit a route after importing it?

    Yes, by choosing the "Open in route planner" option, you can fully customise the route before you start navigating.

  • Where can I find my imported rides?

    Imported rides are stored together with your other activities and can be found in the Record tab.

  • Is web import supported for planned routes?

    Currently, the web interface only supports importing files as completed (recorded) rides. To import a route for navigation, please use the mobile app.
